A Marquee is a large tent used as a temporary building. Marquee tents are used for overhead cover at festivals, beer tents at festivals, performance tents, Artist holding tents backstage, exhibitions, fairs, banquets, weddings, private backyard party tents and for corporate entertainment events. A Pole Marquee consists of PVC, under tension by means of centre poles, side poles and guy ropes or tentioned rachets which are attached to ground stakes hammered into soft surfaces only such as lawn or field. The modern marquee was introduced due to the material being easier to clean than wovan canvas.
"DIY" tents is available upto to 5m wide. 9m to 45m widths require specialized equipment and skill to erect.
